Still Life In Progress

Sooooo, I've transferred the drawing then I start toning it with Gray Tone markers (Prisma Color from 10% to black). I will do this untill the image looks like a finished piece in black and white. Except the areas lighter then the paper, that is not done until the color pencil phase. Ill post the finished tone piece once it is done. Thanks for tuning in, catch you on the flip side!

Still Life In Progress

Once I have the still life drawn in a nice clean line, I make a copy and print it out in a light blue line. On the reverse of that side smear on some pastel over where my line art is. After I have enough pastel I place it on a mid tone paper (in this case Canson felt grey). I use a dark color pencil and trace over the blue line thus imprinting the pastel on to the mid tone paper. This is drawing the same drawing about 3 times but it allows to have the most clean line drawing on the tinted paper, which is needed to be able to be able to use color pencils most effectively . QuickStryke Page 2 in progress

In page one we saw QuickStryke make it to the city from the desert where he meets up with the QuickBots. In page two we see QuickStryke use his other ability, multiplying himself at the snap of a finger (latterly). Once the numbers are more even we see our hero leap into action. I was actualy able to block this in very quickly, but on the last two panels found myself having to do a lot of fixing. I'm going to tighten up the figures just a bit more and finish of the details, though this page is not as background intensive as the last, it will still have them in the first in last panels. Thanks for tuning in, and catch you on the flip side.

Page One Done, Page 2 on the way.

I decided it was a good time to take a break from page 2 (in progress) and scan page one. Here it is, I feel that these pages will truly be my strongest yet. I would like to thank 2 people for pointing things out that helped me make page one better. First my gf Melissa Genoshe helped me make the 4th panel better by advising I not do what I was originally going to. The to and from effect aided by the vanishing points in similar panel areas was my idea, but she totally helped. Second, my buddy Alfredo Contreras pointed out that in panel 6, where I was just going to have a lineup of QuickBots did not establish that QuickStryke was stopping right in front of them. This is important since the next page is gonna start the QuickStryke vs QuickBots battle. I drew 2 thumbnails, we agreed which one worked more and how that particular one could be improved. So note all artists: Don't be antisocial, it helps to have extra eyes, an models to. Thanks for tuning in, and catch you on the flip side.
