Here it is, the finished product, still have to look at printing options and get a list together for who and where they are. Santa here in his green sweatshirt is taking a nice nap from "checking it twice". Thanks for tuning in, and catch you on the flip side.

Christmas Card Up Date

Here is the inked version of my Christmas Card. Ive decided to go with digital colors as I am short on time and traditional colors take a lot more time to pull off. I think I mentioned this before but the names listed are of family and friends young kiddos. Ill be posting colored Santa tomorrow I hope, but no promises. Thanks for tuning in and catch you on the flip side.

Last Day at Old Job

I gave my 2 weeks notice, but next week there is no class due to the holiday. So it appears to be that today will be my last class with a certain great bunch of kids, I will miss them, and I hope they carry on with the stuff I have taught them. So they are getting some limited edition variant prints of QuickStryke (ok, to be honest, i didn't like my background colors and will be redoing them). Hopefully my ink will last and I wont have to make it one print per household, lol, they may not even want it. Anyways, here it is, what they will be getting. Hope you like it, thanks for tuning in and catch you on the flip side.

Christmas Card Preview

So Ive wrapped up warming up, got in my groove, and here is a preview at my 2010 Christmas card, the names on the list are of family kids or friends kids. Santa is tired from checking the list and we got him here sleeping, not sure if I want to do inks and digital colors or if I want to do this as one of my traditional medium art pieces. Thanks for tuning in, and catch you on the flip side.

I was gonna do 2 in one day!

I was gonna put this guy up earlier, to post up 2 in one day, but from drawing my Christmas card (ill be posting that as well) I got side tracked and here it is, at about 2am my time. I will do more of these on the spot made up characters, but for now its Christmas card painting and backgrounds. This guy is a magic powered super hero, his name is Henry Porter (see what I did there?), and he doesn't need a wand. Its late so I am off to bed, thanks for tuning in and catch you on the flip side.

Getting more in tune with myself

I mentioned in my last post that I'm warming up, this is to work out some kinks in my work that tend to happen when I do the great evil that is not draw for too long. Usually I post later on in the day, but since I am not sure if I will be able to I am doing it now. I tend to draw good guys, so here is a bad chick, I named her GhostFire, her power you ask, I don't know, something to do with her white fire being all ghost powered? I hope you like it, thanks for tuning in and catch you on the flip side.

Ninja-Gunslinger

Ok, here is a Pop inspired costume (I was looking at a people magazine). Ive been so busy looking for a new job I have not been drawing much, and so these are a few pin ups I worked on as a warm ups. This pop star turns into a Ninja-Gunslinger with the addition of a blade and a gun, its fun but not quite my A game, just working out those bad habits in my warm ups. There is one more I will probably be posting tomorrow, then on to environments, and then through peeps in and we will get some shots. Ill be heading back to Top Cow once I start my new job and can afford the gas, and some new Bristol board as well. Thanks for tuning in, catch you on the flip side.

Tangeld

So once again I got see the Disney animated move Tangled, its a great movie and I recommend it to all. True its another princess movie, but its filled with action, adventure, and lots of humor. Well, fallowing my water color project, I wanted to do some more traditional medium stuff. I used conte on a browned surface with a lot of tooth, this was a quick sketch and I really enjoyed it. I did do a quick youtube search to make sure I was fairly close to the costume, I was just missing the stripes on the poofy shoulder things and the lace up the torso. I hope you all like it as well, thanks for tuning in and catch you on the flip side.

I hope she likes it.

well, this is only a few weeks behind the deadline (i.e. my gf's birthday). I think she will like it, all I need is a frame and its all set. I wanted to do something nice for her and I also wanted to work with a traditional medium. So I tackled 2 birds with one stone, but my moms birthday came up and she saw this, well looks like I'm going to be painting another flower, I just don't know if I should do water color again or acrylic. Thanks for tuning in, catch you on the flip side.

The mean team

This is a sketch for a possible painting (Ive been missing working in color on traditional mediums, so Im taking a bit of time to work with all my paints :) ). It features the tough guys of tmnt, x-men, and cyber-force, you know Raphael Wolverine and Ripclaw. Weather or not this gets painted depends on time. Im caught up on my freelance work, but behind on personal work (great thing of being an aritst, people love art for presents, almost done with gf's 2 week late present, then on to moms. good thing they are both fans of my work). Thanks for tunning in, catch you on the flip side.

A work in progress

So here is the QuickStryke in progress, I am trying this out for kicks, coloring non inked pencils. This is only my flats, I like to use a slightly darker mid tone of the color I will be using through out the picture. I will color it the way I usually do (super hero mainstream), and I may try a more "organic/painterly" approach. Thanks for tuning in, catch you on the flip side :)

This is a job I did for a local High School

This is the Banning High Pilot as a DJ/PJ (podcast jockey). This was work done for Banning High and can be seen on their website, they were even kind enough to credit me.

You can see it here.

What could have been?

This is a drawing I made based off a rough sketch for a cover for a character that was going to be named bullet, this was gonna be a team up thing between me and 2 friends and their characters (I know this sounds like the same nerdy thinks you hear from the many that try, but we actauly had some plans). Anyways, my rough plot outline was aproved but when the writer wrote the script, it was very different then what I had in mind and it suffered a lot some time line issues. The end of the stroy is he wouldnt rewrite and my script wouldnt be aproved. So I retain the right to use this character that is super fast and can multiply, and I renaimed him QuickStryke since Bullet was their idea, if I ever do this for reals I may work that in the story "your name should be bullet, cuz your as fast as one" "no, thats just stupid"... not that the name is dumb (I liked it and hoped to have kept it), just a funny reference to the origin in behind the scences of the character.
